Outsourced purchasing

Accessing skills and scale

All over the country there are buyers pretty much doing the same things. Negotiating prices, running tenders, analysing bids, agreeing contracts, resolving queries and issues.

Many of our clients have reached the conclusion that these are not core skills to their competitive position, and have placed their buying in the hands of Prestige Purchasing. They have usually done this because they believe that our skills and scale will bring reduced cost, better quality and service, and more innovation. We believe that time and again we have proved them right.

Outsourced purchasing

Our outsourced purchasing service focuses mainly on the key areas of food and beverage, but also reaches into every other area of supplier spend – as directed by our client. Effectively, the service enables you to buy a share of our buying team.

The service takes on responsibility for the management of your existing supply chain, and for future sourcing of all requirements. As such, the service delivers the following:

  • Initial take-on and review of the existing supply chain structure, supplier performance, quality, service and pricing.
  • Production of recommendations for improvement in performance on an ongoing basis, to include product re-engineering, supply chain consolidation and rationalisation, improvements to distribution efficiency, and purchase to pay process.
  • Creation of new supply arrangements once agreed with our client to deliver the improvements identified above.
  • Production of management information on supplier performance, regular review meetings, and follow-up corrective action with suppliers.

Outsourcing doesn’t mean losing control however. Just as if we are a part of your in-house team, all decisions on specification, ranging and supplier choice remain with you throughout. And our service is provided without long-term contracts, so if we do not continue to add value over time you can simply cancel the arrangement with one month’s notice.

Why outsource your buying to Prestige Purchasing?

  • It minimises your internal costs on non-core activity
  • It is low cost, flexible and has no long term commitments
  • It leaves you in control of specification, ranging and supplier choice
  • We have the clout to improve supplier performance
