Collaboration

Making your volume count

A core competence of Prestige Purchasing is the facilitation of collaboration between businesses to deliver additional value. Collaboration works because large volumes attract lower pricing, and because they enable relationships to be developed with manufacturers and brand owners. Our skills in this area enable you to join others in approaches to market without any compromises on product specification, ranging or supplier choice.

Collaboration

We enable collaboration in two ways as follows:

Sector based collaborative groups

These are groups of businesses who are from the same sector – examples include hotels, restaurants and private hospitals. Here, competitors merge their volumes on a programme of categories to drive additional cost savings. Often, savings are available immediately because existing deals can be joined.

Collaborative commodity buying

We run a regular programme where major commodities such as hygiene paper, chips, oil, and bacon are taken to market jointly. These are usually run on six-monthly pricing cycles, and are contracts with manufacturers where our client retains the responsibility for the distribution element of the process.

Why use Prestige Purchasing to enable collaboration with other businesses?

  • We have the skills and experience to overcome the inevitable complexities
  • You retain control of specification, ranging and supplier choice
  • Cost savings are low effort and usually quick to deliver
  • Savings are “new” – i.e. they cannot be delivered within your existing walls
  • Savings are usually large
