Making specialist skills available

Sometimes our clients find that they need specialist product purchasing skills, but these are either unavailable in-house, too expensive to recruit, or being utilised elsewhere. Most of our consultants are available to step into projects with just a few days notice, and they are experienced at working in new cultures where they have to tread carefully whilst still getting things done.

Category Management

Category Management is where our client asks us to manage the Source part of the buying process on their behalf. Our consultant effectively becomes a part of the procurement team, on an as required basis until the new supply arrangements are contracted. Our client usually retains control of the implementation of new supply arrangements.

Usually projects are delivered in two phases, as follows:

  • Diagnostics – where detailed due diligence is carried out to deliver a sound business case
  • Delivery – the delivery of new supply arrangements and improved terms

The advantage of the 2-Phase process is that our client can have visibility of the return on investment (ROI) prior to any serious financial commitment. In addition, Prestige Purchasing will make ROI based guarantees as a part of any Delivery proposal.
