Richard Small
Richard studied Agriculture at Harper Adams and Seale Hayne. He then worked for several years before taking a BSc. in Food Marketing Sciences at Sheffield University, and after another period of work, completed his MBA at Warwick University in 2000.
After briefly considering the idea of becoming a Chef in 1991, Richard joined Geest as Trade Marketing Manager until 1995 where he joined Sodexho as Purchasing Executive.
In 1997 he relocated to Hong Kong for Cathay Pacific Airlines as Purchasing Manager in Catering. He then made the logical step to join Gate Gourmet in the UK before moving to their Head Office in Zurich until 2002 as Director of Global Logistics and Supply Chain.
From 2002-2007 he worked for LSG Sky Chefs in Frankfurt/Dallas as Global Vice- President of Strategic Procurement before setting up Supply Network Solutions in 2007. This has lead to further employment with Gate Group, developing Total Cost Management and has subsequently resulted in Richard joining Prestige Purchasing in 2010.
Richard met his Argentinian wife in Zurich whilst working for Gate Group. They have 3 children together, the youngest of which is just 6 months old. Richard is a keen tennis player when the opportunity presents itself, and even more rarely, he enjoys a game of golf.
